This is not for everyone but if you are looking for a lightweight screen so you can sleep under the stars this may be for you.

What is good about the Carey Single Sleep Screen

Easy setup – with a few poles it is self standing you can place it anywhere and it covers the upper part of your body like a folding umbrella. Note that there is no groundsheet so might want to bring one as well. Your sleeping bag will most likely stick out the back.

Compact size – with a folded size of 17” x 2.5” diameter and weight of 10 ounces that fits in nylon stuff sack you will hardly notice it in your backpack.

There were only a few reviews for this shelter. For example one reviewer remarked my 11 year old son went on a white water rafting trip with this and was able to set it up and tear it down by himself. He didn’t come home with any mosquito bites (he did use repellent, but that only lasts 6 hours) and several of his friends who had no mosquito tents had dozens of bites. The unit is very portable and fairly easy to put together and use. I recommend this to anyone who wants to sleep out under the stars but not be bitten up by bugs as a result.

Another reviewer stated we bought four of these before our trip to Central America. They work great and have plenty of space under the netting. They’re easy to set up, compact and very light weight. The reason we chose them is that you don’t have to rely on finding a place to tie a cord (i.e. it’s self supporting).

This reviewer said he purchased this product to use primarily at home and when traveling. Even when staying at 5 star hotels there always seems to be one mosquito in the room. This net works great, but the only drawback is that it acts as an insulator. You might have to sleep with the AC on if you are in a hot humid climate. I have never been bitten when using the net tent.
