What customers say about the ALPS Mountaineering Lightweight Series Self Inflating Air Pad
There were lots of reviews for this sleeping pad. Numerous reviewers commented on how comfortable it is, how they don’t touch the ground whether sleeping on their back or on their side. One reviewer remarked that he is, “a 350lb backpacker and I never touch ground with the support his pad offers.”
Many reviewers talked about the quality of the construction, although it is light, it is thicker and better built. It’s easy to use and light to carry. This reviewer said, “after sleeping on the straight ground for many years as a minimalist, this is luxury.”
Also reviewers said it self inflates easily and rolls back up to a small tight cylinder. A lot of reviewers felt this sleeping pad was of higher quality than the therma rest.
There were no major issues but a few reviewers said it does tend to slide on the tent floor a bit, but a plain sleeping bag does that too. A couple of reviewers thought it was a bit long when rolled up, it sticks further than the width of most backpacks if strapped under the pack. So one backpacker put his inside the pack and strap the sleeping bag under his pack instead.
